Markiyan Popil, Klavier

Markiyan Popil was born in Lviv,Ukraine in 1995.

He began his professional studies at the music school in Tomaszow Lubelski (Poland) with Olena Popil, and specialised music school in Lviv by Lidia Kryh and Oksana Rapita, with whom he continued his studies at Lviv National Academy of Music. Since 2015 he is studying in Antwerp Royal Conservatory in the class of Sergei Edelmann.   Markiyan is a prize winner of many competitions for youth in Ukraine and Poland. In 2016 he won the first prize in Andre Dumortier International Piano Competition in Leuze-en-Hainaut (Belgium) Markiyan has taken active part in many masterclasses, piano forums, festivals, performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, Portugal, Ukraine, Poland and other East European countries. He performed Prokofiev’s 3d piano concerto with the Lviv Symphony Orchestra in Ukraine. In the summer of 2017 he played with Chœurs de l’Union Européenne and the Orchestre de la chapelle musicale de Tournai, under the direction of Philippe Gerard, with whom he also performed both Beethoven 4th piano concerto and Rachmaninov Rhapsody on the theme by Paganini in one evening.   In February 2020 Markiyan performed twice Tchaikovsky 1st piano concerto in Blue Hall of DeSingel together with maestro Ivo Venkov and in March he won a competition sponsored by Yamaha which was held in the Conservatory of Antwerp. In November 2021 he became a laureate of AntwerPiano competition and was selected to participate in grand competition “Classic Piano” in Dubai during August-September 2021 where he passed to the 3rd round and performed with  Armenian State Symphony Orchestra (ASSO) under the baton of Sergey Smbatyan. In 2020 Markiyan became an assistant of Sergei Edelmann at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp.

 

Marko Komonko, Violine

Marko Komonko stammt aus einer Musikerfamilie. Mit sechs Jahren erhielt er seinen ersten Violinunterricht von seinem Vater. Später wurde er von bekannten Pädagogen der Lemberger Musikschule unterrichtet, die in der Ausbildungstradition des Moskauer Tschaikowsky-Konservatoriums stehen. Die Konzerte des Förderprogramms „New Names“ führten ihn schon in jungen Jahren in viele Länder Europas sowie nach Japan. 1992 wurde er beim Internationalen Tschaikowsky-Wettbewerb für junge Künstler ausgezeichnet und erhielt ein Stipendium der Yankelevich Foundation. Von 1994 – 1999 studierte am Royal College of Music in London bei Prof. Felix Andrievsky und wechselte später zu Viktor Tretyakov, der an der Musikhochschule in Köln unterrichtete. Zu Studienzeiten nahm er erfolgreich an verschiedenen Wettbewerben teil und gewann z.B. 2003 den zweiten Preis beim Internationalen Musikwettbewerb in Köln.  Auch wurde er regelmäßig als Solist in seine ukrainische Heimat eingeladen und spielte unter anderem mit der Philharmonie Lemberg, den Lemberger Virtuosos und der Philharmonie Kiew. Seit 2004 hat Marko Komonko vor allem als Konzertmeister gearbeitet, darunter bei dem Seoul Symphony Orchestra, das als eines der besten der Welt angesehen wird. Als Solist und als Ensemblemitglied hat er bei vielen Radio- und Fernsehaufnahmen mitgewirkt. Seit 2014 ist er Konzertmeister der Philharmonie Lemberg. Er lehrt an der Musikakademie in Lemberg und wird regelmäßig zu internationalen Wettbewerben als Juror eingeladen.

   

Vadym Pedorych, Viola

Vadym Pedorych was born on March 12, 1968 in Lviv in a family of musicians. He graduated from Lviv State Music College in 1987 and Lviv National Music Academy in 1993 in the class leaded by professor Zenon Dashak. Being a student of the Music Academy he worked in the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra from 1988 to 1991. From 1994 to 2012 he performed as a concertmaster of the viola group in several orchestras: Lviv Virtuosos Chamber Orchestra (1994-1999), Leopolis Chamber Orchestra (1998-2008), Trembita Chamber Orchestra (2008-2012). From 2014 to 2019 he was an artist of the chamber orchestra "Virtuosos of Lviv". Since 2019 till the present day Vadym is an artist of the Lviv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. In 2020 he also joined Lviv Phoenix String Quartet and made with them several original projects. Since 1993 he has been a member of the Ensemble of Contemporary Music under the direction of V. Duda. He has toured in Great Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Yugoslavia, Denmark, Poland and Switzerland.

He played at the festivals "Warsaw Autumn", "Prague Spring", "Kyiv Music Fest", "Contrasts" (Lviv) and others. Participated in international projects with such conductors as Saulius Sondeckis (Lithuania), Rudolf Werthen (Belgium), J.-P. Lore (France), Roland Bader (Germany), Jerzy Maksymiuk (Poland) and others. Played concerts together with Igor Oistrakh, Pierre Amoyal, Al di Meola, Georgi Zamfir and others.                            

 

Lytvynenko Denys , Violoncello

Denys Lytvynenko (Ukraine, Lviv) – cellist, composer, principal cellist in Lviv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, cellist of Phoenix String Quartet, he gives recitals as soloist and chamber musician in Ukraine and abroad. Denis studied at the Lviv Specialized Music School (1992-2003) under Eugene Spitzer and Nadia Kvyk before graduating in 2008 from Lviv National Music Academy named after M. Lysenko, where he studied under Yurij Lanyuk. Started his concert life being a student; he is recipient of many awards, such as First prize at Ukrainian National Cello and Viola Competition (Lviv, Ukraine), Second Prize at Ukrainian National Competition of chamber orchestras and quartets; participant of international master-classes (Tomas Stral) and festivals.

During years of study he started his work at Lviv National Philharmonic, soon he became a principal cellist at K &K Philharmoniker Orchestra (Ukraine), performed with orchestras in such countries as German, Austria, Netherland, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland and other. From 2014 Denys is a principal cellist of Lviv National Philharmony Symphony Orchestra Denys collaborated with such conductors as Illya Stupel, George Kugi, Theodor Kuchar, Fedir Glushenko, Misha Katz, Volodymyr Sirenko, Shungo Moriama and other. As part of Phoenix String Quartet Denys appears in different multicultural projects, charity events and important international festivals (in such countries as USA, Japan, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Estonia and other). Very important part of their work is to popularise Ukrainian music , to bring a new life and rediscover works by Ukrainian composers. Denys recorded around one hundred of solo and chamber pieces by contemporary composers in collaboration with KLK New Music. Also released recordings  Aldebaran Edition. He has premiered many new works of modern composers.

 

Yarema Kitsyla, Kontrabass

Yarema Kitsyla was born on October 18, 1995 in Ternopil, Ukraine, in a family of musicians.

After graduating from Ternopil Music College named after Solomiya Krushelnytska (class of A. Tatarintsev), he received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree at the Lviv National Academy of Music M.V. Lysenko (class of O. Luchanko). He won the First Prize of the Ukrainian Competition of String Instruments "Classic Meridian" (Kyiv, 2015) and the First Prize of the Ukrainian Competition of Performers on String Instruments (Lviv, 2019). Since 2018 he has been working in the symphony orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic. He is a regular participant in various festivals and concerts of chamber music in Ukraine and Europe.
